Travis grew up in the Dallas area, attending St. Mark’s School of Texas.  After St. Mark’s, Travis attended the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with honors.  Travis then matriculated to The Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University where he served on the SMU Law Review and also graduated with honors.

After clerking for Jenkins & Gilchrist, PC and Haynes and Boone, LLP (the two largest Dallas law firms at the time), Travis accepted an offer to work for Haynes and Boone in their Dallas office.  Haynes and Boone is currently the largest law firm in Dallas with more than 450 attorneys located in 10 different offices worldwide. Travis left Haynes and Boone at the beginning of 2007 to start Perry & Murphy, PLLC.

Travis is married to Lizzie and they currently reside in Dallas with their two sons, Wagner and Mack.
